NOTES
This piece is like a painting. The mosque is presented almost in profile and where the courtyard would/might have been there is a hanging lamp suggesting a glimpse of the interior of the building. O'Bannon says these types of rugs were woven between the turn of the 20th century and WW1. They are unusual and this one is very finely drawn and woven. Beautifully designed, amazing colours.
